International Women’s Day

Updated: Mar 9, 2023

As an NGO dedicated to combat HIV/AIDs, malnutrition, and poverty by focusing on vulnerable populations in areas with high malnutrition and extreme poverty, international Women's Day is a critical day for us, but more importantly to renew our commitment to making gender equality a reality for women worldwide.

On this International Women's day, we participated in organizing an event in Kavumu Cell, Busasamana Sector where our headquarters located. The theme of the day is "DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality". We also distributed chicken and food to women for a sustainable foundation for food. On this day, we recognize women in our Villages of Hope who did everything to develop themselves from what we gave them like Niyonagira Esperance who is a young mother and life was difficult for her and the child. She started farming vegetables, she used to plant on every small portion of land but with the help from Dufatanye Organization, she is planting on the big land and supply a big quantity of vegetables to the market, she is able to buy everything she needs including paying school fees of her child.

On a day like this is a time to celebrate the progress that has been made towards gender equality, but it is also a time to recognize the work that still needs to be done. As a Non-Government Organization we are committed to fighting gender inequality and to creating a more just and equal world for women. We thank all supporters and partners who did everything to create good world to our beneficiaries.
